Claudia M. Fritsche

Dr. iur., Partner

Claudia is the founder and managing director of ENQUIRE. She advises clients on the design and implementation of effective investigation and whistleblowing programmes. She also conducts internal and regulatory investigations on behalf of corporates, other organisations (e.g. associations, educational institutions, foundations, SROs) or government agencies. In doing so, she can rely on a wealth of experience ranging from the investigation of criminal and supervisory misconduct to organisational deficiencies and workplace conflicts (e.g. discrimination, mobbing, harassment). Her time as the Head of FINMA's General Counsel's Office during and after the financial crisis, which prompted numerous investigations against Swiss financial institutions, was a particularly formative experience. Since then, complex investigations, financial market law enforcement and issues relating to cooperation with domestic and foreign authorities belong to her main areas of expertise. After seven years with the regulator, Claudia returned to the private sector in 2013/14 with a first-class network.

Claudia is an attorney-at-law with an LL.M. degree from the National University of Singapore. She wrote her dissertation on the topic of Corporate Internal Investigations in Switzerland. The handbook, which is based on her thesis, has established itself as a standard work of reference in Switzerland. In addition to her work as an attorney, Claudia is responsible for a module of the CAS course "Compliance in Financial Services" at the University of St. Gallen and regularly speaks on regulatory as well as compliance-related topics.
